"] [/caption] By Karen Kwan Designer Kim Mimran shared a 1960s issue of Harper's Bazaar with Eddie Malter and Eric Del Monaco to serve as the inspiration for the beauty look for the Pink Tartan show. What did their modern tweak of the inspiration result in? A focus on verdant eyeshadow, lush lashes and stick-straight hair. [caption id="attachment_2366" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="The beauty loot for Pink Tartan"] [/caption] M akeup Eddie applied L’Oréal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base, followed by L’Oreal Touche Magique Concealer and L’Oréal Visible Lift Foundation--all applied with a brush so he could better control how much product he was applying. Next, some subtle highlight was brushed on where light naturally hits the face--at the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheekbones and chin--using L’Oreal Wear Infinité in 805 Morning Light. Check out our tips and tricks for applying foundation. Finish the makeup look and get '60s-inspired hair after the jump! [caption id="attachment_2367" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Eddie Malter perfects the Pink Tartan eye"] [/caption] For the eyes, he brushed on white eyeshadow right underneath the brows, followed by the green shadow of L’Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigments Bright Shadow Duos in Perky 307 all over the lid, using the charcoal shade of the duo at the outer corners of the lower lashes and at the inner corner of the lids. Eddie then contoured the eyes using a deeper green shadow. He played up the lashes by first applying Voluminous mascara, and then further emphasized them with individual lash bundles glued along the lower lash line and a full lash along the upper lash line. Cheeks were kept natural with a quick sweep of L’Oreal True Match Blush in N34 and Mimran specifically requested modern, nude lips so Eddie chose to slick on L'Oreal Colour Juice Sheer Juicy Lip Gloss in Caramel Creme 825. [caption id="attachment_2368" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Pink Tartan final look"] [/caption] Hair Hair was done super straight, with a precise part down the middle. "With the heavier, dramatic makeup, this look works well," says Eric of the simple, sleek hairstyle. Eric first smoothed on L'Oreal Studio FX Modeling Gel Cream to control flyaways before flat ironing the hair--"it helps prepare the hair and close the cuticle,” he says. With the flat iron, he straightened the model’s hair by pulling the iron downwards. "If you hold up sections of hair at 90 degrees to flat iron it, though, this will give your hair a veil effect, it'll look more like it's floating as you walk," shares Eric. To keep it sleek and lying flat, you need to pull the iron directly downwards.
