Sad news for Birchbox’s Canadian customers: The brand has announced that, effective March, they are pausing their Canadian operations.

“We are so sad to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to put our Canada operations on hold,” said Katia Beauchamp, co-founder and CEO of Birchbox, in a statement. “We love our Canadian customers, but with the current exchange rate and high shipping costs, we can’t create the Birchbox experience at a price that is fair to you.”

Subscribers will continue to receive boxes until March, and the Canadian website will remain open until April.

While it’s a hard loss, here are other options for online beauty shopping in Canada if you prefer to buy your lipsticks from the comfort of your couch: Shopper’s Drug Mart’s Beauty Boutique, 6 by Gee Beauty, BeautyMark, Sephora, Holt Renfrew and FTB Beauty.
