We’re starting off spring with our best faces forward, and sloughing off the remnants of dull (and dry) complexions past. Best bests for leaving behind winter skin this season? Any of the targeted and skin-healing facial treatments we curated for spring 2013, both brand new and offered at shiny, just-opened spas.

The spa: The Spa at Windsor Arms, 18 St. Thomas Street, Toronto. 416-934-6031

Spring 2013 must-try facial:
Glycolic Peel Facial with an Oxygen Blast (60 minutes, $160)

The details: Refresh dull winter skin at this regal Toronto hot spot for relaxation with this totally season-appropriate facial. Your complexion is rehydrated and fine lines softened with natural acid to both exfoliate and stimulate collagen production. That’s topped off with gentle puffs of pressurized oxygen to plump up and smooth over skin. For a total-body glow, best served with the spa’s Passion Fruit Sugar Souffle Body Scrub ($145, 120 minutes).

Spring 2013 must-try facial:
Pure Marine Collagen Facial (60 minutes, $225)

The details:
Get that just-out-of-the water glow with this luxe spa’s new and exclusive marine collagen facial, which uses omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil, peptides and hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate tired skin. The hour-long facial uses products by Ocean Skincare, which was developed by Biocean Canada—also responsible for collaborating with the National Research Centre of Canada to produce the 99.7 per cent Pure Native Soluble Marine Collagen Type 1, a key component of the treatment to reduce signs of aging and environmental damage.

Spring 2013 must-try facial:
Traditional Thai facial (75 minutes, approx. $128)

The details: You know—and love—the holistic benefits of the ancient Thai massage, but what about the traditional facial? The treatment at the just-opened second London location of Thai Square Spa features a facial steam and massage using a Thai herbal compress, and applies Asian botanical remedies for a healing (and toned!) finish.

Spring 2013 must-try facial:
Diamond Experience Cryo-Repairing Lifting Facial ($90 minutes, $325)

The details: We can’t think of a better way to be welcomed to this new hotel spa than with a diamond experience. This anti-aging treatment uses a mio-facial lifting massage to burrow deep into pores while cold lifting repairs and rehydrates cells for the kind of 24-carat sheen characteristic of its jeweled namesake. Worth the short trip from L.A. for this treatment, which premieres in California exclusively at the spa.

ANTI-AGING MUST: The best RETINOL products

The spa: eforea Spa, Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa, 8500 Warden Avenue, Markham, Ont. 905-470-8500

Spring 2013 must-try facial:
eforea Signature Correcting Facial with Microcurrent (90 minutes, $220).

The details: This corrective skin treatment will be offered at the 5,000-square-foot eforea spa—the first in Canada—when the hotel opens this month. The facial targets sun damage, fine lines plus oily and uneven skin through allover exfoliation, a deep-cleansing massage and hydrating peel mask to refresh skin for spring. That’s capped off with a relaxing acupressure scalp massage and cooling eye and face treatment.
