Just when you think that you’ve figured out your favourite beauty brand, those unstoppable innovators surprise us with new launches to complement the products that we already know and love. In that spirit, we’ve rounded up five unlikely soon-to-launch pairings—including a cult fragrance brand with a new home décor line—that we predict will have beauty junkies buzzing.

1. Butter London launches lipstick

One of the hottest
beauty trends to emerge from the Spring/Summer 2012 runways? Matchy-matchy lipstick and nails. (See the eye-catching duo of matching plum at Donna Karan or double dose of cherry at Christian Dior.) This April, the nail gurus at Butter London eliminate the guesswork when scoping out like-tinted shades with the launch of Lippy, a collection of five lip glosses to match popular existing shades, including Primrose Hill Picnic and Snog.

2. Nicole Miller hits the skin care market

New York designer Nicole Miller’s whimsical patterns and bold prints have become signatures on the runways since her eponymous label launched in the early ’80s. This spring, the fashion house teams up with New York plastic surgeon Dr. Cap Lesesne to launch a similarly luxe skin care collection, Nicole Miller Beauty. Based on a classic, simple elegance—much like the sophisticated look Miller is known for—the beauty line focuses on skin rejuvenating and facial brightening, and uses sea salt and algae extracts in the collection of day and night creams, toner, skin cleanser, eye care, and glow serum. Like Miller’s signature LBDs, they’re sure to be hit both on and off the runway.

3. Jo Malone expands into home fragrance

The beauty of the luxurious, floral scents of London perfumer Jo Malone is that they literally follow you everywhere: from woody body colognes to nutmeg and ginger bath oils for the tub, and spicy ambiance-setting candles. Now those trademark amber-infused scents will linger in your pad with Malone’s Scent Surround home fragrance collection launching this April. The newly all-encompassing fragrance label covers the home and body bases with lime basil and mandarin diffusers, pomegranate noir room sprays and matching scented drawer liners and sachets.

4. CK One introduces makeup

That signature minimalism inherent to Calvin Klein—and gender dualism of cult fragrance,
CK One—can still be found in the brand’s new makeup line, CK One Color Cosmetics, which launches in late April. Not as contradictory as it seems, Coty, the makers of the citrusy, unisex scent, are extending into every aspect of gender-bending beauty care:
skin correctors (like concealers and foundation), enhancers (blush, mascara, bronzers) and those colourful finishing touches (lip gloss, eye shadow, lipstick).

5. Swarovski breezes into the fragrance world

It took 117 years—and what we can only imagine to be a mountain of its signature crystals—but Austrian jeweller Swarovski is adding fragrance to its diamond-studded repertoire. Developed by perfumers Jean-Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp (the dynamic duo behind Dior’s Dune Pour Homme), Aura finally launches in North America this April (the bejeweled fragrance was first released in Europe last year). The fruity-floral eau de parfum takes its notes from the house’s longtime muse—crystals, naturally—along with lychee, white tuberose and pink pepper.
