Crescent moon brows at Missoni

Katherine Flemming, health and beauty editor: At long last, brows aren’t an afterthought for fall 2015. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni said the eyebrows had a strange shape, slightly inspired by Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft. Paired with the '80s prints and shellacked hair, this look came together beautifully on the runway.

Victoria DiPlacido, assistant beauty editor: While this isn't a look many will want to pull directly from the runway (a bold line striking through the brows may be a little too in-your-face for most) do keep the sentiment in mind: brows are not to be forgotten.

Classic Italian beauties at Dolce and Gabbana

KF: No surprises here, as deep ruby lips, winged black eyeliner and twisted updos made another appearance. Though it’s a bit repetitive, it’s so regal and impactful that I can’t help but love it.

VDP: I loved last season's show so much that I also cannot fault them for this repeat. (Plus, it's hard to find areas of critique for my dream updo.) But can we talk about the flawless skin? And not just on the models – the mamas looked every bit as radiant as their tots they toted down the runway.

Crispy hair at Marni

KF: Crunchy waves? This had hairstylist Paul Hanlon written all over it—it vaguely reminded me of something he had done for 3.1 Phillip Lim a few seasons ago. Normally, I’d find this quite gross and veering toward ‘80s excess. But on the runway, the models looked like their hair had been battered by sea salt and wind, and with their warrior-like outfits, it worked.

VDP: Usually, excessively slick, crunchy or otherwise wind battered-looking hair falls under into our over-the-top, try-this-at-your-own-risk categories. But this iteration – with less of a wet look and more tousled – feels fresh.
