Makeup for Pink Tartan was "very modern and wearable," says Lee. She applied foundation and concealer where needed, filled in the brows, then contoured. "I start from the ear and work my way down, and I follow that kind of hollow that you see in the cheek," she says. "Step number two, with the blush,  I work my way [over the] apples of the cheek. For the voluminious loose waves at Lucian Matis, Redken's lead stylist Jorge Joao prepped dry hair with Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam and blow dried. Stylists then used a 1.5-inch curling iron to create loose waves, pinning curls around the face on the crown until the last moment for extra bounce. In keeping with his glossy makeup look, Mikhael Kale wanted "nails to look as if they had been dipped in jelly." Essie Global Lead Educator Rita Remark used a combo of matte and glossy polish. For Matthew Gallagher, she used Topless and Barefoot with graphic, negative space cutouts. Remark said that she and her team of seven will use about 150 bottles (!!!!) of nail polish during the week.
