Take advantage of the snowy season and heat things up with these winter date ideas!

Find out what guys really find romantic

The weather outside may be frightful and even your cashmere sweater can't keep you warm -- but we're betting that spending some time alone with your main squeeze will turn up the heat. Don't let the chilly winter months puts a damper on your romantic plans -- winter can actually be very romantic ... with beautiful snowflakes, white lights and sparkling frost let your imagination wander with these great winter weekend date ideas!

Bundle up to go ice-skating for the day. Put on your woolies, grab a cute hat and hit the local rink with your skates. You will be spending the day holding hands, helping each other, and picking each other up if you fall. If you're at an outdoor rink you get the bonus of the fresh outdoors to make your cheeks rosy and if you stay all day you will be treated to a great sunset. Don't forget the hot chocolate afterwards!

Spend the day in your own winter wonderland. Go sledding, build a snowman, make snow angels and have a snowball fight with your hunny. Let your inner kid come out and have a blast with the fluffy white stuff instead of wishing it would disappear.

Have a "snow day." Remember when it snowed enough to cancel school and you could stay home in your pjs all day? Replay those days together by making indoor s'mores (over your fireplace if you have one), multiple cups of hot cocoa, fondue and play board games or watch old movies cuddled together on the couch.

Take a weekend winter retreat. Head to a great ski resort and book a weekend of skiing fun at the chalet. You can stay inside where it is cosy and warm with a fireplace or hit the slopes and get in a great workout together.

Take a tropical retreat. Book yourself and your guy hot stone massages and melt away those winter blues. Then hit an arboretum and get lost in the warmth of the tropical plants while walking hand in hand. When you go back outside, the cold will seem a little bit warmer thanks to your mini-tropical escape.
