Celebrity 911: Hollywood's worst dressed

The following fabulous artists have been guilty of making not-so-brilliant fashion decisions. That's why ELLE Canada asked three of Canada's top fashion know-it-all's to revamp these four desperate celebs wardrobes into coveted styles you'll want to emulate.

The Stylist: Alisa Krost
After working in both film and fashion all over the world, Krost fell in love with Toronto and has been based there ever since. She's styled celebrities including Nelly Furtado, Liv Tyler and Rachel McAdams.

The Victim: Britney Spears

If you want to be taken seriously, don't dress so provocatively. She is a pretty girl, but is not doing herself any favours. Her legs are one of her assets (minis work for her), but this is more like a top than a dress. Try: layering, less skin. Be more adventurous. I would recommend designers like D&G, Miss Sixty, Marc by Marc Jacobs or Proenza Schouler. Find out where to buy your favourite designer by checking out ELLE Canada's Shopping Guide!

The Victim: Lindsay Lohan

Normally Lindsay has more fashion savvy, but this is tragic. Hollaback girl! The proportions are wrong for her and the garters are tacky. It would work so much better if she were barelegged. She is a beautiful girl and has a nice body, so can wear almost anything. Be more inventive, like mixing patterns or clashing colours. I'd recommend Balanciaga, Undercover or Versace.

The Victim: Nicolette Sheridan

Fredricks of Hollywood meets jeans and a tank? I think casual chic is a great idea, but put together. A bit of sophistication that is a touch flirty, feminine, cool and simple. I think she should dress a bit more like Annette Bening. She should try Alberta Ferretti, Bottega Veneta, Giorgio Armani or Michael Kors.

The Victim: Paula Abdul

Please Paula, don't show this outfit to Simon! This one needs to be retired to your grandmothers' trunk. This bustier is busy and it chops her body. A one-piece solid black halter dress will instantly make her look longer. A gorgeous slim cut pantsuit in an iridescent fabric would be cool and more modern. I would recommend Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Gucci, Narciso Rodriguez or Valentino.
