6. A horseback ride Get a little bit country and hop on a horse with your date at a farm (nix the cowboy hat if you want and opt for some slick riding boots with your skinny jeans). Trotting through the trails and through the changing leaves will surely add some romance to your date. Your date might not be Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall, but hey, it's still pretty romantic. Plus it's a casual way to get to know one another while enjoying a beautiful sunny autumn day.
7. A picnic in the park Nix the standard picnic fare of sandwiches and cold salads and opt for some warm tea or hot chocolate and cups of soothing soup in thermoses. Settle in with a blanket to keep toasty and a book to read to each other and you'll feel like you're in love in a European park. Tres chic.
8. A trip to the vineyards Fall is the best time to enjoy a vineyard and all the great tastes. Stop by for a tour of the sweeping grounds (which will set the romantic mood for the date since vineyards are reminders of two major romance countries, France and Italy) and then get ready for a wine tasting. Buy a bottle to take the memories home with you or back to you hotel.
9. A hike through nature Get a good workout in while spending time with your date. Show him your outdoorsy and athletic side by hiking through the woods. He will appreciate your effort and the casual atmosphere will provide time for lots of laughing. You might just need some help to get over a high rock, too, so don't hesitate to grab his hand for help. Don't forget to take a bite to eat so you can have a little picnic when you reach the top!
10. A good movie, your couch and your date Hey, sometimes, it's just too cold outside, not to mention that it's probably dark, too. Nothing beats a mug of hot chocolate, a good chick flick and your guy on your couch to cuddle with. Spend the night all snuggled up and reminisce about all the fun you had in the summer and what you'll do next summer.
