• GET THE LOOK "Start with a really great blow-dry," says celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson. First, apply a dimesize amount each of a lightweight gel and a volumizing product, then blow-dry the hair using a round brush to achieve volume at the scalp. Working section by section, wrap the hair around the outside of a curling iron - "There's less risk of burning yourself," says Gibson. To finish, turn your head upside down and spray with a light hairspray to add texture and volume.
• DO… Choose the right size curling iron. A medium-barrelled iron will give you tighter curls, while a large-barrelled one will give you loose waves.
• DON'T… Position your curling iron vertically - it will create ringlets instead of waves.
