6. You and your partner have a huge, blowout fight one night over domestic tasks. Even though it's resolved now, you still have residual feelings of resentment. You: A) Talk it through with your partner until you feel fully satisfied with the outcome. These problems are bound to arise but you recognize the importance of not letting things get bottled up inside you. B) Nurse your hurt feelings until they subside. You're not confident that talking about it AGAIN will accomplish anything. C) Get on the phone to your friends, your family and vent all of your frustrations to them. You describe your partner as "lazy", "uncooperative" and "self-righteous". You paint a very bleak picture of him to your loved ones because you want to ensure that they're on your side.
7. While hanging out with some single girlfriends, they suggest checking out an online dating site that a few of them use regularly. You're in a relationship but you find yourself surfing the site for hours. When your friends suggest that you create a profile, you know, just for fun, you: A) Laugh at the absurdity of the suggestion! You're in a happy relationship and you would never dream of doing something to jeopardize that. Not to mention, you would totally freak out if your boyfriend did the same thing and what's good for the goose ... B) Humour your friends in a little bit of harmless fun but back out of posting a profile at the last minute. Only thing is, Monday morning, while you're at work, you find yourself wondering, "What if ... ?" C) Post a profile and wait eagerly to see what kind of attention it gets. You're not married, after all!
8. You find your job totally demanding and exhausting. When you get home from work you: A) Find the energy to engage with your partner. Sharing the trials of your day keeps you both in tune and connected. B) Can barely find the energy to make dinner or small talk, but you try to discuss your day and ask him about his. Unfortunately, you're so tired that the important details tend to get lost in the shuffle. But you figure, at least you're communicating! C) Fall exhausted on to the couch. If you stay there long enough, maybe he'll make you dinner.
9. Your partner plans a wonderfully romantic weekend away. You: A) Soak up every second of it. You don't often have the opportunity to sneak out of town so this is a delightful escape! Plus, the fact that he planned it all himself makes it even more special. B) Feel totally guilty when you ask him if he can reschedule it because it doesn't fit perfectly into your schedule (although, you could make it work if you really wanted to!) C) Are happy to get away from the craziness of the everyday, but you don't shower your partner with much attention. In fact, he's commented on your relationship with your BlackBerry on more than one occasion!
10. Your boyfriend has to travel to Cleveland for a week on business. He invites you to join him. You: A) Can think of more exciting destinations but decide to go anyways. Why not take advantage of the opportunity to spend more time together? B) Tell him that you'd love to go but you just can't afford the time away from your own job. C) Laugh at the very idea! Now if it were Manhattan for a week, that would be a totally different story! Get your results on the next page!
