Deck Shoes
The nautical trend continues this year with the emergence of the newly fashionable deck shoe. Style savvy hipsters have adopted these preppy loafers into their casual urban wardrobe and Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders even collaborated with Sperry (makers of the original boat shoe) on fashion-ized versions of the traditional Topsider for both men and women. Structured Men's Jacket
If you can only buy one thing this year, make it a structured menswear-inspired jacket. Right on trend, yet so versatile this jacket can do it all. Dress up jeans and a t-shirt in a snap, or wear it over a pretty, ruffled dress for an unexpected twist on a classic spring look just like Gwyneth Paltrow.
Ombre Dress
Glowing ombre dresses -- tye-dye's sophisticated older sister -- lit up spring runways in New York and Toronto thanks to designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander McQueen and Zoran Dobric. Bold yet breezy, the perfect ombre dress is the summer must that can take you from brunch to cocktails to the beach without breaking a sweat.

When it comes to jewelry, you've got to go big or go home. Big up your bling -- without dipping into the ghetto fabulous pond (so 2006!) -- with bold, geometric pieces like a chunky jeweled cuff (this one by Kenneth Cole) -- the must-have item on every fashionista's shopping list this year.
Sheer Layers
If there's one trend everyone will fall in love with this spring, it's the hints of transparency we saw (and saw through) at almost every fashion week. Designers like Marc Jacobs (pictured left), Jill Stuart and David Dixon played with the concept of transparency in dresses, blouses and even pants! A pretty dress of sheer layers is both darling and provocative -- what more can you ask for?
