Make peace with summer frizz with a relaxed, sexy updo. "This look is messy but polished and easy to recreate at home," says Robert Barbosa, owner and artistic director of Toronto's Salon Escape.
• After using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, apply a curl enhancer to damp hair.
• Wrap half-inch sections around a finger and pin the coils to your head, then blow-dry.
• Release the curls and carefully separate them using a soft wax warmed in your hands.
• Next, loosely twist two-inch sections of hair and pin them at the crown, leaving the ends free.
• Continue until all the hair is pinned up.
"For a breezy look, make sure some tendrils frame the face," says Barbosa. Set with a spritz of hairspray.
